Material Variation in Unreal Engine
Hey everyone, in this tutorial I will be teaching the viewer how to create a complex yet modular master material to speed up your workflow and develop highly customizable assets.
From there we will go into making a few example material functions that you could add to further increase your level of fidelity and variation to your props. We will start with aging and scratches, then move onto paint chipping.
Together we will also cover how to drive these effects with a series of options such as position, distance, and time.
Each node and decision in the material functions are carefully explained with the intention of a deeper understanding for the viewer rather than just following along.
Going into this tutorial you should have a decent level of comfort with the controls of Unreal as I will not be going over content such as the user interface or viewport navigation.
